Charlotte METRO
Black(local)   Charlotte     Black USA
All statistics above are from the Census Bureau - 2006 American Community Survey
Although smaller than Atlanta and Dallas, Charlotte is also considered a top destination for African Americans looking to relocate. This has prompted an influx of middle class Blacks into the Charlotte metro area. As a matter of fact during the 1990s Charlotte ranked third only behind Atlanta and Dallas in migration for African Americans.  Home to Johnson C. Smith University the city, like Atlanta enjoys an influx of college graduates from the school who decide to stay after graduation.
